I’ll have a quick debrief with you in the afternoon before F comes in. Big meltdown today after school, however, once again he didn’t go non verbal, which would have happened in the past. He talked through the trigger and why he was so upset and even did the square breathing you’ve taught him! He did hit himself a few times but kept talking and used words like ‘disappointed’ to explain how he felt.
This is such amazing progress, Rob and I are so grateful. F has been having speech and language therapy with various therapists since age 3 and you are the first person who is having a really positive impact, so thank you so much!

We met Abi when our son was young and had a lot of communication issues. Abi’s diligence, perseverance and professionalism meant that three years later he is a confident, happy and very chatty six year old. Who has gained a lot more confidence in his abilities. As with any therapy we had ups and downs but Abi never stopped and always had an end goal and how we all had to work together to achieve it. We are very grateful!

Abigail Uttley provided speech and language support for our son from early 2020 up until the summer of 2022.
Her professional, yet personal approach from the very beginning put us at ease.
Our son L has received the best quality support available which has enabled him to make great progress which has led him to reach an ‘age expected’ level in terms of communication. Abigail worked together with ourselves, the school and other professionals to ensure a well-rounded approach to meeting his individual needs.
Abigail’s meticulous assessments, feedback and language plans detailed every aspect of Leo’s language needs. This meant that the sessions were tailored to Leo which helped him to make the great progress that he has made.
Leo built up a fantastic relationship with Abigail and was regularly heard giggling in the therapy room as he was thoroughly enjoying the activities she had planned

This week we said a sad farewell to this amazing lady as she sets off on her next adventure! We are so thankful to have found such a wonderful speech and language therapist for F. F has had speech and language therapy since the age of three but what Abigail has achieved with F over the past two and a half years has been phenomenal.
With support from Abigail and school F has made so much progress, he has gone from being at times very disregulated, to having the tools to express his emotions and self regulate effectively. His language has improved dramatically! This has transformed not just F’s life but the whole family’s and we will be forever grateful.

Abi has worked with our nursery/reception age child for several months now, she was recommended to us by school due to social communication difficulties our daughter has, likely related to autism. I was initially unsure of the benefit of “speech therapy”, as our child doesn’t have issues with expressive/ receptive language per se.
I have however really appreciated her ongoing input with our daughter, they are currently doing weekly sessions together, sometimes in small groups, working on social skills, emotional regulation and interoception. Our daughter enjoys the sessions and looks forward to seeing Abi. Abi always gives us a summary of what they work on together, and shares advice for how we as parents could also incorporate some of the activities she is using into home life too.
What is especially invaluable I’d say has been that Abi has taken the initiative often to liaise closely with school staff, who work with our daughter on a daily basis, to help them to better understand her, and to generalise work they are doing outside of the sessions.
I would not hesitate to recommend Abi to other families looking to support their children as fully as they can with communication difficulties, or issues related to neurodiversity.

Abi is truly amazing. As parents, we are our child’s biggest advocates, and Abi is a very close second.
