How We Can Support You at Said Differently
At Said Differently Speech & Language Therapy Services, we’re passionate about empowering children and young people with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN), their families and support networks. As highly specialist therapists, we navigate the often complex path of understanding and supporting communication differences, with a strong commitment to holistic assessment and neurodiversity-affirming practice. We value listening to and learning from lived experience, ensuring our approach is both evidence-based and deeply person-centred.
What We Do
We Identify & Assess
With the help of our colleagues in health and education and our experts (our parents and carers!) we identify and meticulously assess our client’s speech, language and communication skills to identify areas of strength and need, to foster understanding and to create bespoke goals for intervention and support.
We Collaborate
Collaboration is the key to successful intervention and support for children and young people. When therapy goals are shared generalisation can take place, and skills can be embedded into every environment and day to day interaction. Knowledge is power.
We Provide Support
Our aim is, and will always be, communication, in whatever form is best suited to our client. It’s all valid here. We give our clients the tools to be heard. We pay it forward by working with undergraduates and junior therapists or other therapists in our specialist areas of interest, through a clinical supervision offering, to ensure continued quality of service in our industry.
We Connect
Communication is connection and without it we can’t reach our goals. Connection is at the heart of everything we do. We aim to create a safe space for our clients to thrive.
We Learn
We are committed to listening to and learning from the lived experiences of neurodivergent people. Balancing evidence-based practise with neurodiversity affirming care, always, with a person-centred approach. We are all different, uniquely us, so why would our support needs look and feel the same? Our passion allows us to remain at the forefront of developments in our industry. We invest heavily in our own continued professional development to bring you the latest approaches.
We Consult
Therapy reaches far beyond the therapeutic space. We are in the privileged position to be able to coach you. Be that you the parent or carer, you the educational professional or you the allied health professional, on how to best support the speech, language and communication needs of your child or young person.
